Petrichor is not a material you can buy. It is built — here from a geosmin trace, wet flint and juniper, balanced so it reads as damp ground rather than as a swimming pool.
Because the effect is fragile, the base is kept deliberately thin: cedar and a little ambergris, nothing sweet. Anything richer and the rain disappears within the hour.
