Six fragrances. Nothing seasonal.

The library has not changed since 2019. We reformulate only when a material is restricted or a supplier stops, and we say so on the page when we do.

A fragrance that smells expensive in the first ten minutes and empty by the fourth hour is badly built, not strong. Ananya Sur, founding perfumer
Blending by hand at the Mysuru atelier

The atelier

Everything is weighed, blended, macerated and filled in one room in Mysuru. A batch is 400 bottles, which is small enough that the perfumer signs off on each one before it is filled.

We buy sandalwood and vetiver within the state, and jasmine sambac from growers in Madurai who pick after dark. The rest — orris, labdanum, oud — is imported, and the origin is printed on the box.

How we work

From the journal

Process

Why we macerate for twelve weeks

A finished concentrate is not a finished fragrance. Left to rest, the materials bind and the sharp edges of the top notes settle into the heart.

Materials

Oakmoss, and working inside a restriction

IFRA limits oakmoss to a fraction of what classic chypres used. Rebuilding that effect legally means reaching for angelica, violet leaf and patience.

Method

Reading a fragrance on the strip

A mouillette tells you the structure; skin tells you how it will actually wear. Both are necessary, and they rarely agree in the first ten minutes.
